The Steam Yacht Ituna was built for Mr. Robert Alexander by A. and J. Inglis of Glasgow in 1886. Designed by G. L. Watson, she was schooner-rigged and fitted with 50 h.p. Inglis engines. Registered at 98½ tons, she was 137½ feet long and had a 20 foot beam. Sold into American ownership prior to the Great War, she was the property of A.K. McClure of Los Angeles up until 1920, after which she was omitted from the Registers as being 'no longer a yacht' (this phrase may well indicate conversion into a houseboat).
