Lot Essay

Roseola was a Welsh Coaster built for J. Varley in 1869 by Beeching of Wells. Schooner-rigged, she was 77½ feet long and registered at 85 tons. Initially skippered by her owner, she was omitted from the Registers after 1881 probably because she was declassed.
