The iron Barque Clifford was built for their own use by Royden's of Liverpool in 1864. Registered at 915 tons, she was 198 feet in length, with a 32 foot beam. Despite her home port being Liverpool, her main trading route was Dundee to San Francisco, although she disappeared from Lloyd's Register after 1872.
