Lot Essay

A steel 4-masted barque of 2131 tons built in 1891 by Continental Lead & Iron Co. at Petusola. She measured 289' in length, has a beam of 40.5' and a draught of 25'3". Her original name was "Emanuele Accame" and she was owned by Fratelli Accame and was registered in Genoa. In 1912 she was sold to Skibsakties Grimstad and her name was changed to "FERM", port of registry became Grimstad. In 1915 she was sold to Risor Seilskibs Co. A/S. Then in 1926 she was sold again to Rederiaktieb Sydatlanten and her name became "ELSA OLANDER", port of registry Stockholm. In 1920 Rederi A/B Svensak Lloyd became the owners and renamed her "SVECIA". In 1923 the vessel was sold to Rederi A/B Portunos Gothenburg and her name became "C.B. PEDERSEN".

Finally, the vessel was sunk by Collision in the North Atlantic on 25th April, 1937 whilst on a voyage from Port Germein to Falmouth.
