With raised hinged top opening to reveal a mirrored slip within a tortoiseshell and mother-of-pearl surround, the interior decorated throughout with crimson lacquer and parcel-gilt vignettes and fitted with two shaped compartments, the lower well fitted with four short drawers and eight sham drawers, the exterior veneered throughout with mother-of-pearl decorated with penwork and tortoiseshell inlays, the front inlaid with the Hapsburg eagle, on silver ball feet
