An Ottoman wood and inlaid tortoiseshell and mother-of-pearl rectangular writing box decorated with bands of zigzag patterns, the top opening to reveal a sectional interior -- 14in. wide, 18th Century; and a Moghul wood, horn and ivory inlaid games box and cover modelled as a book and decorated with bands of flowerheads and geometric motifs, the sectioned interior similarly decorated -- 9¾in. long, possibly 17th Century.
