A Satsuma slender tapering vase painted and gilt with a spade-shaped panel of cockerels and hens pecking the ground below tall bamboo stems, the reverse with two birds below flowering plants and grasses, on a dark blue ground reserved with gilt flowerheads, the shoulder with a wide band of gilt trellis pattern (the base drilled) -- 7½in. high, probably Kinkozan.
