CHOIR BOOK -- A monastic choir book, 'Miscellaneum', manuscript on vellum, 100ll., 503 x 360mm., written in black ink in a gothic hand, rubrics in red, musical notation throughout on 4-line red staves, large decorated initials, the first with painted floral and foliate decoration, other initials blue on red with decorated ground (affected by damp), contemporary diced calf, center and corner brass bosses, later leather thongs, from a convent of Reformed Franciscans, 'Conventus S. Francisci Burgi Lucensis', probably Lucca, but possibly Lucq de Béarn in the Pyrenees, May 1742.
