A gold, black lacquer and pottery kobako decorated in hiramakie, togidashi and scattered nashiji with a circular panel depiciting lotus and a semi-square panel depicting a bridge before pine trees and a mountainous river landscape, the sides decorated with a continuous band of stylised birds in flight above breaking waves on a kinji ground, the interior in nashiji (dents, small chips and minor cracks) -- 5in. wide.
