A collection of nine valentine cards, the majority with chromolithographic centres all with printed inscriptions including one reading 'BE MINE. Wilt though be mine love, mine evermore, Darling! I'll cherish thee love and adore, Summer and Winter, Autumn and Spring; Each season recurring fresh gladness shall bring. My bosom throbs wildly, love, as I wait The one little word, which decides my whole fate. Answer me quickly, love, do not delay; Answer me kindly, love, do not say nay'; a three panelled pierced paperlace sachet card with silver gilded details, with six chromolithographic centres including two dressed silk angels all superimposed on a green silk background, circa 1870-90, L. 5 x 3½in; ; together with 5 chromolithographic scraps with printed inscriptions relating to valentine's day.
