A set of four hand-coloured valentine cards with embossed borders, all depicting elegant young women wearing shawls, all with printed verses below, the shawls opening to reveal their vices, one a 'Deceitful Serpent' holding a chalice of 'Poison', another a 'Fallen Angel', another with the verse 'Sir Cresswell Cresswell Oh pray sever us, And from a waspish woman's tongue deliver us', her shawl opening to reveal a wasps waist, body and wings, circa 1870, 5½ x 3¾in.
