Two a.l.s. with two a.n.s. to an anonymous addressee, [Florence, 20 October & 18 November 1858], declaring: 'I have been victim to a swindler' and asking the recipient to clear his name with 'the few English who take any interest in my honor', and that he may print letters of a delicate nature from Miss Hooper and her father as a defence -- FRANCIS TROLLOPE (1780-1863). Two a.l.s to Baron French and Miss Fanny Herbert, Bagni di Lucca, Florence, 30 August 1841 and [n.p.] 26 November 1855, one consulting the Baron on a 'point of ambassadorial etiquette' before attending a fête at the Boboli Gardens.
