Although titled H.M.Ship Cracker, this vessel is clearly too large to be the tiny gun-brig Cracker of 1804, a mere 180 tons and only 80 feet in length. Extensive research through both Lloyd's Registers and in the records held by the National Maritime Museum has however failed to locate any other ship bearing this very distinctive name.
