Lot Essay

Both of the fishing schooners depicted above were designed and built by the famous shipwright A.D.Storey of Essex, Mass. John M McManus, 112 tons, was built in 1885 and measured 88 feet in length, with a 24.4 foot beam. The Carrie E Phillips, 116 tons, was built two years later and was the slightly larger vessel at 93 feet in length and 24.9 feet in beam.
