A late 19th century boat builder's model of a six oar captain's gig -- 2½ x 23¼in.(6.5 x 59cm)

The hull, finely carved from the solid, has internal frames, bottom boards, foot rest brackets, gratings, thwarts, staggered rowlock sockets, built up gunwhales, aft cockpit, rudder and pierced brass yoke with sheaves and hand ropes. Further details include brass bow and stern caps and five oars. Finished in black and white with bow monogram (some old damages). Contemporary stand on four claw feet
