A fine and detailed builder's mirror backed half model of the barque 'Torridon' built by Paul Hall & Co. Aberdeen 1865. Measurements overall -- 20 x 81½in.(51 x 207cm)
With deck details including finely carved female figurehead with flowing robes and carved leaf and scroll decoration to bow and stern, anchor with 'D' chain and carved and decorated cathead, fairleads and bollard, capstan, ventilators, deck lights, wood capped deck rails, companionways, hatches, deck houses, bilge pump, fire buckets, binnacle, poop deck with deck lights, gratings and ship's wheel and two ship's boats in davits. Finished in grey, black and varnish with silver plated fittings. Mahogany glazed case (restored)
