An early 19th century French Prisoner-of-War bone and horn model of a 28-gun frigate -- 13 x 15in.(33 x 38cm)
With masts, spars with stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging and deck details including carved male figurehead, hair rails, anchors, catheads, capstan, belaying rails, companionways, hammock nettings, deck rings, ship's bell and wheel and upper deck guns. The hull, with horn strakes, has carved stern and quarter gallery decorations and stern davits (some pieces missing, some restoration). Stand. Brass bound glazed case (later)
