A pair of Chinese ivory carvings of young women, standing, one with her hair piled on her head and holding a spray of flowers in a cloth, the other wearing her hair dressed high and flowing down her back, a large ruyi pendant around her neck, and holding a spray of irises, the hair and other details stained black, both standing on rectangular stepped wood bases with stained pierced ivory balustrades (fingers on one hand broken, one balustrade damaged) -- 15in. and 14¾in.high overall.
