Lot Essay

The Rothschild's racing colors of yellow and blue were first used on commissions for the Rothschild family, and became one of Fabergé's signature designs. A selection of objects in the Rothschild colors may be seen illustrated in the exhibition catalogue, A La Vieille Russie, Fabergé, April 22-May 21 1983, p. 96.
