According to the accompanying letter of authenticity Sid and Nancy ...were about to board a plane [from Paris to London] when his [Sid's] handcuffs registered on the metal detector. He wasn't allowed onto the plane until we agreed to let the cabin crew hold onto them during the flight. Nancy and Sid drank their way across the channel as they worried about getting her through immigration. When we landed [Boogie] carried the handcuffs and was stopped by the Customs whilst they sailed through without a hitch...
