A late 18th-Century brass 2 Inch reflecting telescope, unsigned, the simulated fishskin covered 14ins. (35.5cm.) long body tube with speculum mirrors, screw rod focusing, located by twin "butterfly" nuts on limb with compass joint, on baluster turned column with screw mounting for a wooden post and tripod stand, the cabriole legs terminating in pad feet, in oak case, the interior painted in vermillion - 18¾ins. (47.6cm.) wide.
