A 19th-Century brass surveying level, signed on the silvered compass dial Hancliffe & Draper Philad Warranted., the blued-steel edge-bar needle with jewelled cap and clamp, the shaped limb incorporating twin sights, level, cross-bubble, counter dial and variation vernier scale, with tripod socket mounting, in fitted mahogany case - 15½in. (39.4cm.) wide, with tripod and levelling staff.
