A 19th-Century surveyor's compass, signed on the silvered dial W. & L.E. Gurley Troy N.Y., the blued-iron needle with jewelled cap and pivot, the compass face inset with level, cross-bubble, the horizontal scale with window and vernier, the compass box engraved on the outer edge with a 35°-0°-35° scale and corresponding vernier, with twin folding sights, tangent screw fine adjustment on 4 screw tripod mounting - 6½in. (16.5cm.) high; with a tripod.
