An early 19th-Century lacquered brass surveying level, signed on the silvered compass dial FAYRER LONDON, the telescope with rack and pinion focusing, lens cap, bubble level, with scale graduated 30-0-30 (X 2), located by twin clamps over the pierced framed limb, with compass box, the circle divided into 4 quadrants, the edge-bar needle with agate cap and clamp, on staff mounting, with makers trade label (damaged), in mahogany case with 2 brass carrying handles - 22ins. (56cm.) wide.
