A 19th-Century brass compound monocular microscope, signed on the Y-shaped stand Smith & Beck 6 Coleman St LONDON, with rack and pinion coarse and micrometer fine focusing, mechanical stage, sub-stage Abbe condenser and plano-concave mirror, the curved body limb with axis raised on twin tapering column supports rotating on the Y-shaped base, incorporating a pillar for a lamp fitting, with an extensive range of accessories, including 1/8 Inch, ¼ Inch, 0 Inch, 2/3 Inch and 1½ Inch objectives by Smith & Beck, polariser,prism, bull's-eye condenser, various eyepieces and other items in 2 supplementary cases, all contained in mahogany carrying case with brass handle - 20in. (50.8cm.) high.
