A globular jar painted and heavily gilt with three roundels enclosing a shishi lion above waves and peonies, a ho-o above waves and among clouds and a coiled dragon among chrysanthemums and waves, each roundel within a border of scattered flowerheads and foliage, on a ground of cell pattern and between formal borders of further scrolling flowers and geometric designs (minor gilt rubbing) -- 11in. high, blue enamel Satsuma mon to the base.
