BIBLE, Hebrew. Tikkun Soferim, Seder parashiyyot ve-haftarot kol ha-shanah. [Vocalized Pentateuch with Readings from the Prophets].
Amsterdam: Naftali Herz Levi Rofe for Samuel Rodrigues Mendes, Moses Sarphati and David Gomes da Silva, 1726.
10 engraved titles by Bernard Picart, one for each book of the Pentateuch (printed in duplicate), and one for the Haftarot), dated 1725.
5 vols., 12mo, 157 x 96 mm. (6 3/16 x 3 13/16 in.), eighteenth century green morocco, covers panelled with triple gilt fillets, arms of the De Pinto family gilt at centers, smooth spines gilt, red morocco and black calf lettering-pieces, edges gilt and gauffred to a floral design, calf lettering-pieces abraded, some with loss, extremities scuffed, inner hinges weak; scattered light foxing. Steinschneider 865; Zedner 110; Kayserling 80/81; M.H. Gans, Memorbook p. 186 (illustrated).

Each of the five volumes contains one of the books of the Pentateuch, with an engraved title by Bernard Picart and a general title. In each of the five volumes the Biblical book is followed by a complete set of Haftarot (i.e. for all five books of the Pentateuch), each with its own engraved title-page by Bernard Picart, and preceded by the Daily prayerbook described below. Thus the owner of the set did not have to bring the whole Pentateuch to synagogue and could make do with the appropriate book of the Torah and its multiple additions.
