MANUSCRIPT. Prayers for the Shabbat, High Holidays and the Festivals, also including a Passover Haggadah, with instructions, the Sayings of the Fathers and liturgical hymns.

[Northern Italy or Southern Germany], probably copied by Isaac bar Abraham, probably second half of the fifteenth century.

Parchment with equalized sides. 87 x 64 mm. 131 leaves. Brown ink, with vocalization in a different ink, neglecting matres lectiones. Red ink for first words and letters. No original catchwords preserved.
Bound in a modern brown leather binding. Slightly thumbed, with occasional natural holes in the parchment, many of which have been repaired already at the time of the preparation of the parchment. Occasional scribbles by later owners. Generally in fine condition.

At the end of the Haggadah the name of what appears to be the scribe occurs: "Isaac bar Abraham" (although at the beginning of Pirkei Avot the name Aharon has been highlighted as well, possibly as an indication of the patron?). This interesting manuscript, that deserves further research, has an uncensored version of the prayer "alenu le-shabeach").
