As around the date of publication of this work Menasseh was considering emigrating to Brazil, as so many Amsterdam Sephardic Jews, Menasseh dedicated the book to the leaders of the Dutch West India Company. Included at the end is a Latin poem "Carmen Intellectuale," by Jacob Rosales.
