4 parts in 2, [15 leaves including one blank and engraved title], pp. 1-216, 1-105, 322-344; [2 ll., the first blank], pp. 345-648, 1-16, 663-756 (the inserted parts and odd collation and pagination as called for in the instructions to the bookbinder on final page). 3 letterpress titles, preliminary matter including a 4-page dedicatory poem and a 4-page dedicatory epistle, both from the printer to Aron De Pinto; additional engraved title by Jakob Folkema after J. Pelgersma, half-page engraving of the De Pinto arms within allegorical setting at the head of the dedicatory epistle, 47 folding etched and engraved plates, including 1 engraved view-plan, most by and after Folkema, woodcut head- and tail-pieces and initials.
2 vols., 4to, 193 x 154 mm. (7 5/8 x 6 1/16 in.), contemporary red morocco, covers with gilt roll-tooled floral border enclosing double fillet panel with small crowned cipher tools at angles and large central armorial crest of the De Pinto family blocked in gold, spines in 6 compartments, two gilt-lettered, the remainder gilt-panelled with the De Pinto ciphers, board edges, g.e.; rubbed, spine extremities heavily rubbed with some loss, inner hinges weak, 2 plates with short tear along mounts, paperclip mark on vol. 1 title, slight cropping to dedication engraving, minor offsetting from plates, light browning throughout.

Second edition, THE DEDICATION COPY, BOUND FOR ARON DE PINTO AND INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL DRAWINGS FOR THE ENGRAVED TITLE AND THE ARMORIAL ENGRAVING, the first in gray wash, tipped in to a blank leaf preceding the engraved title, the second in sanguine, pen-and-ink and brown wash on card, signed "Jak. Folkema inv.", pasted down on fol. [5r] above the dedicatory verses, both engravings and the woodcut initial to the dedicatory epistle FULLY ILLUMINATED IN COLORS AND GOLD, the heading to the dedicatory epistle overpainted in gold.
