This book by Menasseh on the resurrection of the dead may have been written against Uriel da Costa who denied the immortality of the soul. It is also possible that Menasseh presented his Jewish point of view on the matter of death and resurrection to a Christian audience, which would explain why this treatise was dedicated to Henrique Hoefiser, and why a Latin edition was published in the same year. The work contains different laudatory poems by Jewish friends of the author.
