A GEORGE II SILVER COFFEE POT, maker's mark of Robert Lucas, London, circa 1751, date letter worn, tapering cylindrical with tucked in base, on short circular foot, one side with vacant shaped oval cartouche
enclosed by chased broad rocaille, flowers and foliage, continuing to form broad frieze to the other side, also including scalework, two sides to the shoulder with paired flowers, with highly upturned part foliate scroll spout, wood scroll handle, the hinged molded flat topped cover topped by baluster finial, with further rocaille decoration to handle, spout joins, foot and cover--8½in. (21.5cm.) high, gross weight 23oz.
