A rare and important petenlair and petticoat of fine linen, embroidered in brightly coloured wools with birds, blackamoors and jesters among exotic fruits and flowers, the petticoat worked with four jesters each holding a flower against a landscape with castles, Italian probably Venetian, circa 1720
