A TWO HANDLED SILVER CENTERPIECE, maker's mark of Lincoln & Foss, Boston, stamped PURE COIN, circa 1859, oval with arched sides, on spreading circular short pedestal base with applied alternate bead, flower and paterae rim, the central interior engraved with small initials and date 1859, within circular matted cartouche issuing four times matted foliate sprigs, two sides applied with cast lion's mask within oval stippled reserve, enclosed by flat chased scrolls and floral sprigs, with applied foliate stippled rim, with two handles each formed as a griffin--length over handles 15in. (38.1cm.) long, 35oz.
