A 19th century French rouge marble encrier of bowed outline, the frieze with a band of interlaced ovals and flowerheads, the twin urn pots centred by a gilt bronze figure of a semi-naked young man seated on a globe, with the legend AD LUMEN, signed E. PICAULT, on toupé feet -- 18in. high.
