This lens is illustrated in Rogliatti Leica and Leicaflex lenses, p. 54 (second edition). Officially the lens does not exist but c. 1972 Leitz made a 5cm. f/3.5 E39 lens to special order. This was noted by Malcolm Taylor, then working for Hove Camera Co., and the then proprietor of the Hove Camera Co., who were on a visit to the Wetzlar factory, and it was decided to make a similar lens. This was photographed and included in Rogliatti's book.
