Lot Essay

According to Todd production of the Witness camera is unlikely to have exceeded 350. Serial numbering began at 5000 and this example is one of the earliest examples to have been offered for sale to date. The guarantee sheet with the is dated 10 March 1953. The instruction booklet also carries applied labels indicating that the Daron lens had been withdrawn and that the Super Six lens was being fitted to the camera. The Super Six lens fitted to this camera features the distinctive interrupted screw for quick mounting and dismounting.
