A finely engineered and presented 3in : 1ft scale model of a single cylinder horizontal mill engine originally built by Woods & Co, Suffolk Iron Foundry, Stowmarket 1860-1890 and modelled by D.J. Unwin 1987 -- 13¾ x 23½in (35 x 59.5cm)

With brass bound, wood lagged cylinder 2in bore x 4in stroke, studded stuffing boxes, drain cocks and pipes, bar type crosshead guides, inlet manifold with main stop valve, belt and gear driven 'crossed arm' type governor, linkage and valve, displacement lubricator, Meyer expansion valve gear with eccentric adjustment for reverse running, eccentric driven feed pump and by-pass, wedged and cottered big end, spoked flywheel and curved spoked belt pulley and other details. Finished in green, red and polished brightwork and mounted on brass bed on simulated stone plinth and wood base.
