The winged female figure of Victory, raising a torch above her head in her left hand and a scroll in her right hand, one foot resting on a winged wheel set on top of a globe supported by seven figures representing the seven liberal arts, on a cast circular base decorated with a band of figures. Turned mahogany base.
The globe engraved 'Charles Sykes - sculpt'.
Hallmarked London 1908, Sebastian Garrard.
The base stamped with retail mark of R.& S.Garrard Haymarket London.

This trophy by Charles Sykes (1875-1950), pre-dates the famous Rolls Royce 'Spirit of Ecstacy' car mascot which Sykes designed in 1911.
