Hathrill by Thomas Harcourt Powell Esqr., half morocco, (disbound), lge. 4to., with later five pp. annotated title list; the other with seventy-nine albumen prints, sizes to 9 x 7 in., the majority titled in pencil on mounts, inscribed in pencil on front free end paper [G.] C. Dep[teer]. Capt. Bengal Artillery 1859, full morocco, gilt, sm. 4to. (2)

Lot Essay

The first album includes portrait groups of family members and estate workers, views of Drinkstone Park, Farnham House, Holkham and Longford (homes of Thomas Coke 1st Earl of Leicester), the second album includes members of the Saxton and Crichton families and views in India.
