PLOMER, William. A card, dated 8 March [19]51, to John Arlott, thanking him "for a really wonderful evening. It so much promoted my well-being that I have seen life through rose-coloured spectacles ever since." As a "note of appreciation," he sends a ticket for the funeral of the Duke of Wellington, issued by the City Police Office, Nov. 18, 1852, mounted on the back of the card -- "you may like to add it to your collection of Victoriana"; and a collection of correspondence from Bernard Darwin, Francis (?) Meynell, Ruth Pitter, James Stephens, Edward Thompson and Rex Warner; together with 13 small watercolours and drawings of landscapes, 1900's, unsigned.
