Lot Essay

Elizabeth, the presumed sitter, was the daughter of David Baker I, who married his friend John Verney of Claydon, later Viscount Fermanagh, on 8th April 1696 at Kensington, but she may alternatively be Elizabeth, the daughter of Daniel Bakker II.
