An Arita baluster vase painted in underglaze blue, coloured enamels and gilt with shaped panels of peonies and hydrangea issuing from brushwood fences on a ground of scrolling chrysanthemums above a band of stiff leaves to the foot, the shoulder with dragon roundels among peonies (minute chip to foot rim, slight gilt rubbing) -- 17¾in. high, circa 1700.
