A well detailed and presented, fully planked and rigged model of the Swedish flagship 'Wasa' of circa 1628. -- 28 x 40in, (71 x 101.5cm).
With bound masts, yards, standing and running rigging and full suit of stitched linen sails with reefing points, embroided, standards and deck details including anchors with bound wooden stocks, catheads, hair rails, belaying rails and pins, deck rails, companionways, grating, capstan, rope coils, ship's boat with bottom boards, thwarts and oars in chocks, upper deck guns in carriages and decorated stern lantern. The hull, lavishly decorated with male, female and mythical figures has open gunports with lions heads, tourelles and stern decoration. Finished in matt varnish, blue and grey, with brown sails, stand and metal framed glazed case.
