A well detailed live steam gas-fired ½in : 1ft scale model of the ocean going tug 'Dolphin' built by J V Fallaize, circa 1952 -- 23½ x 48½in (59.5 x 123cm)
With masts, aerials and deck details including anchors and winch, bollards, ventilators, glazed wheel house with ship's wheel, binnacle and engine room telegraph, stove pipe, stayed funnel with safety valve extension pipe and hooter, engine room lights, deck rails, companionways, tow hook and horses, two lifeboats in davits and other details.
Powerplant details include braized copper superheated Yarrow type boiler with fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, main stop, clack valves and burner and lagged steam line to Stuart Double 10 V engine, ¾in bore x ¾ stroke with displacement lubricator, gear driven feed pump and bypass, exhaust oil seperator, disc flywheel and shaft coupling with stern tube oiler to single shaft and three bladed propeller. The hull, of sandwich construction, is fitted with hand feed pump and directonally adjustable controlable rudder and is finished in red, black, and varnish. Stand.
