A well carved and detailed fully planked and rigged ivory model of the Royal Naval 16-gun Sloop-of-War 'Atlanta' of circa 1776 -- 14½ x 18½in. (37 x 47cm).

With bound masts, yards, standing and running rigging and deck details including carved female figurehead, hair rails, anchors with bound ivory stocks, catheads with sheaves, deck rails, campanionways, gratings, belaying rails and pins, upper deck guns in carriages, shot racks, capstan, ship's bell and tiller. The brass pinned and planked hull has stern and quarter gallery decoration and rudder. Stand. Glazed case.
