Having been sent down from Clare College, Cambridge ("some difference arising"), William Young matriculated from University College, Oxford, in 1768, and went on his travels, during which: "Ten copies of an account of part of his journeys, entitled: 'A Journal [...], were privately printed by him about 1775."
