A large Roman gilt bronze crossbow fibula, with two large knobbed terminals at the head, the semi-circular bow supported by a scrolled cross bar, a central metal strip runs the length of the body, incised with a scrolling pattern inlaid in gilt, pin intact -- 3¼in. (8.4cm.) long; another similar, smaller, with hexagonal terminals and openwork semi-circular borders on the body, traces of gilt -- 2½in. (6.4cm.) long; and another with incised volutes on the body, both with pins intact -- 3¼in. (8.4cm.) long, all 4th Century A.D.
