Lots 30 - 59 are by Fernand Piet (1869-1942). Born in Paris, Piet trained with Cormon, Carriere and Roll. In 1893 he acquired his own studio in Montmartre where he worked and socialised with artists such as Jean Louis Forain. He exhibited regularly from 1895 at the Societe Nationale des Beaux Arts and after the War at the Salon des Independants.
