Details
A folio containing three unframed pen and ink drawings by
John Minton; two scenes from Treasure Island; one study of a man
on a street corner, one with added signature, one with added initials and the date Nov. 47 (the work to the left of the vertical pencil line entitled 'Chapter I' on the largest Treasure Island drawing is not that of John Minton, neither are the pencil signatures, initials or dates). The remainder of the unframed drawings (mainly illustrations and book jacket designs, including studio sketches of Camberwell) in this folio are by John O. Phillips, illustrator and possible pupil at Camberwell School of Art under John Minton (showing his influence).

Frances Spalding has kindly confirmed the authenticity of the three works by John Minton.
